Gambier Island
A waterfront garden on Gambier Island
A planting project for a coastal waterfront home, with all plants and materials barged to Gambier Island and deliveries coordinated around the tides.

The work
Part of our garden work across the Coastal Islands.
This coastal waterfront project involved more than getting plants into the ground. Before planting could begin, we needed to get all the plants and materials over to Gambier Island, with deliveries planned around changing tides and access to the property.
We organised the barge delivery and worked around those conditions to bring everything needed to the site. Having the materials and planting work coordinated was an important part of keeping the island job moving.
The planting follows a series of terraced beds beside the home, bringing colour and greenery through the different levels of the garden. It softens the space around the steps and existing structures, helping connect the house with its waterfront surroundings.
From the mainland delivery to the finished planting, our focus was on a carefully organised job and a garden that suited this particular coastal home.
