The work

After a new wall was built, the client wanted more privacy in the backyard. We discussed a planted alternative to a fence and chose a Portuguese laurel hedge to create a softer boundary.

The wall had introduced a strong edge to the space. Planting alongside it gave us a way to soften that hardscape while adding greenery and movement to the yard.

The hedge was planted with its future role as a living privacy screen in mind. As it grows, it can become a fuller part of the garden, providing separation while keeping the space green and welcoming.

This was a focused planting project with a clear purpose: give the client a privacy solution that worked with the new wall and felt at home in the backyard.
